The Gala, whose main theme is “Innovation and Resilience,” honors companies that have distinguished themselves in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the midst of the pandemic, the Akbaraly Foundation opened the COVID-19 emergency center; the Kintana Center remained operational throughout the entire duration of the public health emergency. This is the Akbaraly Foundation’s third health center in Madagascar; like the health centers in Fianarantsoa and Majunga, it will very soon begin offering general services such as screening for gynecological cancers, maternal and child health care, and treatment for malnutrition.

Some of the Sipromad Group’s operations are considered essential public services, and production has continued uninterrupted. No employees have been furloughed since the start of the crisis, either in Madagascar or abroad. Sipromad Group employees have benefited from enhanced health and safety measures in their offices. Regular awareness sessions on health and hygiene measures have been organized, with hand sanitizer and masks made available in the offices and the introduction of employee shuttle services. In addition, a solidarity fund was established during the pandemic to offset rising prices.

Donations were distributed in collaboration with the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo, which provided assistance to the most vulnerable during the pandemic.
