The sipromad group, sponsor of the Africa2020 season

The launch of the 2020 Africa Season in Madagascar took place on December 10 at the French Embassy, attended by various stakeholders involved in the event. The 2020 Africa Season is a platform for discussing issues related to the state of contemporary societies that, beyond Africa, resonate with France and the rest of the world.
According to its curator, N’Goné Fall, the Africa 2020 Season is “an invitation to view and understand the world from an African perspective.” Its goal is to celebrate a continent with a population of more than 1.2 billion people, in all its creative and cultural diversity. The discussions were organized around five major themes:

  • Enhanced Orality: Knowledge Dissemination, Social Networks, Technological Innovations
  • Economics and Fiction: Resource Redistribution, Financial Flows, Economic Empowerment
  • Archiving Imaginary Stories: History, Memory, Archives
  • Fiction and (Un)authorized Movements: The Movement of People, Ideas, and Goods; The Concept of Territory
  • Systems of Disobedience: Consciousness, Political Movements, and Citizenship

Madagascar will be well represented during this Season, with some 20 Malagasy personalities and artists, including: dancers Harivola Rakotondrasoa, Nanie Oliva, and Judith Manantenasoa; photographer Malala Andrialavidrazana; Chef Lalaina; as well as academics Helihanta Rajaonarison, Sahondra Andriamihamina, and Raivolala Rahelison. The Sipromad Group, through Thomson Broadcast, is participating in the event as a sponsor of the Africa 2020 Season, in which one out of every ten projects will involve Malagasy participants. “We are proud to be actively participating in the Africa 2020 Season. We believe in the strength of this continent and are working to change perceptions of it. ” — Ylias Akbaraly, CEO of the Sipromad Group.
